Qazigund, Mar 12: Five students from Army Goodwill School (AGS) Wuzur, who won gold medals at the national innovation competition, were honoured by the school and army officials in Wuzur Qazigund.
These students have developed innovations that enable the remote control of home appliances from anywhere in the world and an irrigation detection system to assist farmers.
The students participated in the grand exhibition “Young Creators League 2024,” which was held at Plaksha University.
The students include Arbaz Hussain Hargah, Moeen Javaid, Uzair Farooq, Basalat Reyaz, and Itoo Barika, mentored by Javid Ahmad and Humaira Rashid.
The incharge teachers said that the Innovation Club is an initiative of the Bharti Foundation. The innovative students are very intelligent when it comes to solutions for social and financial problems. The students made a project using an innovation kit provided by the Bharti Foundation, which included Ordino. The students used that kit and created two innovations.
“One is an Automatic Irrigation System, which is very helpful to farmers, as it can control the irrigation of the land from home and provide information about fertilizers. The other team made an Internet of Things (IoT) based Home Automation System, wherein they can control home appliances from anywhere in the world,” said the incharge teacher.
Javid Ahmad said that for testing, they got in touch with someone in Bangalore who controlled the home appliances from there while they had a link to control in Bangalore, turning the home appliances on and off.
” We later exhibited the project at Plaksha University, with support from the Bharti Foundation. This facilitation will boost the students to go further in their future endeavors,” incharge teacher added.
Moeen Javid said that their project was selected by the Young Creators League at Plaksha University. The project, named Home Automation System, allows control of home appliances through a phone. The idea was generated because we used to forget to switch off appliances at home when leaving,” one of the students said.
“We are grateful to the Bharti Foundation, the school staff, and the army officers who facilitated us,” he added.
The army officer said that the students have brought laurels to the school, and they should continue their good work. This facilitation will encourage other students as well.
