Event at Sports Stadium at 10:30 am; DC invites public to participate

Pulwama, May 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will lead a padyatra at Sports Stadium, Pulwama on Tuesday as part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan”, aimed at spreading awareness against drug abuse across the Union Territory, officials said.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am and will feature an address by the Lieutenant Governor before the padyatra.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama Dr Basharat Qayoom said the event is being organised under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan and appealed to people from all sections of society to participate.
“This is a public programme and we invite religious leaders, political and social activists, youth clubs, senior citizens, traders’ bodies, bar association, horticulture and industrial associations, and all stakeholders of the district to take part,” he said.
The padyatra will start from Sports Stadium in Pulwama, and will be led by the Lieutenant Governor.
The programme is part of the ongoing 100-day anti-drug campaign being spearheaded by LG Sinha across Jammu and Kashmir. Similar padyatras have already been held in districts including Jammu, Srinagar, Budgam, and Kathua with participation from students, youth, and civil society groups.
