Ganderbal, Jan 31: To promote winter sports, popular tourist destination Sonamarg is set to host the 8th National Snow Show Championship from February 17 to 20. The Championship aims to attract both domestic and international participants, turning the picturesque place into a hub for winter sports enthusiasts.
Preparations for the event are in full swing in Sonamarg, as the district looks to capitalize on the success of similar initiatives in Gulmarg. Locals have long advocated for hosting winter games to not only showcase the region’s natural beauty but also to generate income for hotels and provide employment opportunities for the community.
