Srinagar, Jan 25: The School Education Department (SED) Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday has prohibited the schools from granting the permission to the students and staff for participation in political programmes and rallies.
In an official communication, Peer Zahid Ahmad, Deputy Secretary to the Government in the School Education Department J&K, said that all the officers, including Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education Officers, and Heads of Institutions of all the schools under the School Education Department, are not to grant any permission or give any direction to students or staff (including all categories of teachers) to participate in any political program, rally, etc. organized by any political party.
“All the Chief Education Officers shall strictly monitor that any directions from any district authority should not be in contravention to the circular instructions, and in case of any such deviation, the Chief Education Officer concerned shall immediately bring the same into the notice of the respective Director of School Education for further instructions” the Deputy Secretary said.
He said that the respective directors of the School Education Department shall ensure strict compliance with circular instructions, and violations of the same shall be viewed seriously and shall invite strict action under law.
