The Maha Kumbh -2025 that is taking place in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh from January 13 to February 26, 2025 is going to witness a tremendous boost from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.The Ministry has come out with several initiatives to boost the domestic and international tourist gaze.This once in a lifetime Maha Kumbh will attract millions of Devotees that includes tourists and pilgrims from all over the globe.
This mega event is offering a unit opportunity to India to showcase the Indian culture besides the Sanskrit Civilisational Heritage of India that caters to various segments of tourism industry.Realising this,the Ministry is trying to cater to various market segments and as such it is setting up the “Incredible India Pavilion” on a sprawling 5000 square feet space at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.The focus of this Pavilion is to facilitate and sensitive all the stakeholders that include foreign tourists,scholars, researchers, photographers, journalists,Expat community,Indian Diaspora and other interested groups.
This Pavilion will encourage the visitors and pilgrims to vote for their favourite destination under the segment “Dekho Apna Desh Peoples Choice Poll.”Keeping in view the needs of the foreign tourists and influencers besides the journalist fraternity and photographers,the Ministry of Tourism has set up a Toll Free Infoline(1800111363 or 1363). English and Hindi Toll Free Numbers are functional in 10 international languages besides the Indian vernacular languages that include Tamil,Telugu,Kannada, Bengali, Assamese and Marathi.
Social Media campaign has also been launched by the Ministry of Tourism to sensitive the masses and create a buzz for the Maha Kumbh 2025. Hashtag #spiritualprayagraj has been created to generate the momentum for this mega event, encouraging the pilgrims and tourists to share their experiences from the ground zero.Social media contests,posts in collaboration with ITDC and UP Tourism and other stakeholder organisations is going to amplify the visibility and reach of the Maha Kumbh 2025.
To make its initiatives successful to amplify the Maha Kumbh 2025,the Ministry of Tourism has joined hands with Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (UPSTDC),IRCTC and ITDC to offer different tour packages and facilitate the accomodation at the Maha Kumbh site, Prayagraj.These packages have been widely circulated through digital brochures to Indian Missions and Indian Tourism Offices for the wider reach.
The Ministry has joined hands with Alliance Air to enhance the connectivity to Prayagraj from multiple cities across India to ensure hassle free travel for pilgrims and tourists to the Maha Kumbh 2025.
To document this mega event the Ministry of Tourism is undertaking a comprehensive photoshoot and videography project so that the spiritual aesthetics of the Maha Kumbh 2025 is captured for posterity. These documented visuals will be shared extensively with national and international media to showcase Prayagraj as a unique spiritual and cultural destination having immense potential for tourism upholding the civilisational place consciousness and aesthetics of India.
