Srinagar, Dec 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association successfully conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, marking a significant milestone in the promotion of carrom and strengthening the association’s foundation in the region.
The meeting, presided over by Association President Adil Rashid Shah, brought together members and representatives from affiliated district units. Shah highlighted the association’s achievements, including the resolution of key issues and its expansion into a robust body of over 36 members representing various districts. This growth ensures broader representation and opens new avenues for the development of carrom in Jammu and Kashmir.
The election of office bearers was a key highlight of the AGM. The process was conducted under the supervision of Mrs. Musbat Ismail Wani, Deputy Legal Remembrancer, who served as the Returning Officer, appointed by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council. Additionally, Dr. Altaf ur Rehman, Retired Director of Physical Education at Islamia College, Srinagar, acted as the Observer on behalf of the All India Carrom Federation, New Delhi.
The association expressed its gratitude to Arif Sultan for his hard work and dedication in organizing the event. Special thanks were also extended to Mrs. Nuzhat Gull, Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, for her efforts in promoting grassroots sports and supporting well-functioning associations in the region.
