Pavneet Kour slams BJP, Congress for ‘neglecting’ vulnerable sections of society
Jammu, Sept 20: Pavneet Kour, the contesting candidate from Jammu South representing the Jammu Kashmir Apni Party, on Friday reaffirmed her commitment to uplift the most vulnerable sections of society by declaring that one of her core agendas is to raise the old-age pension from the current Rs 1000 to Rs 5000.
Speaking at a public gathering in Rampura, Ward No. 23, she said this move is important to ensuring dignity for the elderly, widows, and people with disabilities. “This increase in pension is not just a promise; it is the core agenda of my campaign and the Jammu Kashmir Apni Party. I belong to a common family, and I feel the pain of the common man,” she said. “Unlike the BJP and Congress, who have neglected the needs of the vulnerable, I understand their struggles. Our goal is to bring the government directly to the people.”
Kour assured that if given the mandate, ward-wise camps will be organised to ensure that beneficiaries of old-age, widow, and disability pensions receive their dues without the need to visit government offices. “Under my leadership, the administration will come to the people, setting up camps in every ward to ensure that pensions are delivered efficiently to those who need them,” she said.
The Apni Party leader accused the BJP and Congress of creating unnecessary hardships for the common man. “These parties have only focused on their political agendas, ignoring the real struggles of the people,” she said. “With the support of the people, we will bring about real change.”
Kour called on the people of Jammu South to support her and the Apni Party in the upcoming elections, stressing that this pension reform is a crucial step in addressing the region’s most pressing issues.
