Zojila: At least nine persons have been killed one critically Injuried in a traggic road accident after a Taveera fell into 800ft deep gorge at Chini Nallah Zojila Pass on Wednesday late evening.
A Police told Rising Kashmir that the Tavera Vehicle bearing registration number JK12/7466 travelling from Kargil to Srinagar met with an accident on Srinagar-Leh highway near Chini Nallah Zojila Pass resulting to the onspot death of 4 Persons while five persons later succumbed to the injuries in hospital one among was seriously injured.
Soon after receiving the information Police party from Police Station Sonamarg along with health team and Traffic Police immediately started rescue operations in the area. After heavy efforts rescue teams managed to bring out 7 dead bodies and the injured one from the deep groge.
The rescue operation was Started early on Thursday again and more two dead have been bodies recovered from there.
The injured have been taken to PHC Sonamarg where from he was reffered to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
SHO Police Station Sonamarg Younis Bashir confirmed that nine persons have been killed in this accident.
