5th Jammu Film Festival to be held on Sept 28-29

Srinagar, May 4: The fifth edition of the Jammu Film Festival (JFF) was officially announced on Monday at a press conference held at the Press Club Jammu, marking another milestone in the region’s growing cinematic landscape.

 

Organisers said that with five editions of JFF and its collaboration with the International Film Festival of Srinagar (TIFFS), the initiative has collectively completed nine film festival editions across Jammu and Kashmir. Over the years, JFF has developed into a credible international platform, attracting filmmakers from across India and abroad.

 

The festival has previously witnessed participation from noted personalities such as M.K. Raina, Rahul Roy, and Yashpal Sharma.

 

The fourth edition of the festival was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, underscoring its rising prominence in the cultural circuit.

 

A key highlight of the upcoming edition will be a cash prize of ₹1 lakh for best local production, aimed at promoting and encouraging regional filmmaking talent.

 

The fifth edition of JFF is scheduled to be held on September 28 and 29, 2026, in Jammu. Film submissions will open from May 6 through FilmFreeway.

 

Organised by Vomedh in association with The Avanti Foundation, the festival will feature film screenings, interactive sessions, and curated cinematic experiences, with participation from national and international filmmakers.

 

Among those present at the press conference were Sanjeev Kak, Bhawna Pandita, Bindya Raina, Bharti Kaul, Kusum Tikoo, King C Bharti, Suman Bhat, and Kasksha Dogra.
