4-day training prog for CUK staff concludes

Ganderbal, Dec 29: The four-day training programme cum lecture series organised by the Department of Students Welfare (DSW), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), for the administrative staff, under the aegis of “Viksit Bharat@2047: Voice of Youth,” concluded here on Friday.
Addressing the participants, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, said that higher educational institutions are the organisations where there is a shared responsibility among the different stakeholders. Prof. Zargar highlighted the importance of quality based leadership and governance in the higher educational institutions. He emphasized that participative and distributive leadership should be a mantra which eventually leads to the growth and development of the institutions in particular and country in general. He also highlighted the importance of Gross Enrolment Ratio (GRE) in Higher Educational Institutions and made a comparison with other developed countries.
Event coordinator Dr. Mudasir Bhat, conducted the programme proceedings and proposed the vote of thanks.
Earlier, on 27th of December, Finance Officer and Head Department of Commerce, Dr. Mehraj ud Din Shah, delivered a lecture on “Jan Dhan Accounts” and said, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) is National Mission for Financial Inclusion to ensure access to financial services, namely, Banking/ Savings & Deposit Accounts, Remittance, Credit, Insurance, Pension in an affordable manner. He said the objective is to ensure access to financial products & services at an affordable cost and use of technology to lower cost and widen reach.
On 28th of December, Dean School of Management Studies, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad Nika, delivered a lecture on “Developmental Planning in India” and said, the country has implemented several Five-Year Plans since its independence in 1947 and has now shifted from these Five-Year Plan by adopting a new strategy known as the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog).
He said the key features of India’s developmental planning include: Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Make in India, Smart Cities Missions, Digital and Skill India and others.
