35th J&K UT Junior Volleyball Championship commences from Feb 21

Jammu, Feb 02: Udhampur District Volleyball Association under the aegis of Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) and in collaboration with J&K Sports Council is all set to host three-day 35th J&K UT Junior Volleyball Championship for boys and girls at Mini Stadium Udhampur from February 21 to 23, 2024.
The championship would be an eye opener for volleyball lovers of the Union Territory of J&K to witness the latest techniques/talents of volleyball players.
During the championship various aspects of Khelo India, My Youth-My Pride, Drug-de-Addiction etc. would be focused among the youth.
According to Kuldip Magotra, Chief Executive Officer VAJK, each team will consist of nine players and one Incharge i.e. President/ Secretary/ Coach and players born on or after January 1, 2005 will be eligible to play.
“All participants should submit the age certificate indicating the date of birth issued by the head of institute and pasted recent photographs attested by him/her. In case of private School the certificate should be countersigned by ZEO/CEO concerned,” Kuldip said, adding that the players should produce an identity card with photograph attested by the District Secretary, along with the original Date of Birth certificate/ Aadhaar Card and passport.
“All the participants have to present themselves before the age screening committee on February 20, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Govt. Boys Model Higher Secondary School Udhampur and the decision of the age screening committee will be final and binding on all the concerned. No protest will be entertained,” CEO VAJK said.
No participant will be allowed to take part in the Championship without approval of the age screening committee, he said, adding that the last date for receipt of entries is on or before February 11, 2024 and entry fee shall be Rs 500 of each team and players registration fee shall be Rs. 20/-per player.
“No District team will be eligible to participate who has not conducted District championship and no player is allowed to participate in this championship who has already participated in the senior JK UT championship,” Magotra said adding that the Association shall provide free unfurnished accommodation to the teams and officials. However, he said, warm beddings should be brought by the participants.
He further disclosed that free boarding/lodging facilities for all participating teams have been provided.
“The Championship will be played on league-cum-knockout basis and fixtures of the matches shall be drawn on February 12, 2024 at 5.00 PM at Jammu by Technical Committee of Association,” he said.
“All  participating teams should be  in  proper uniform  with  a number in front/back and District Name also. The referee decision will be final and binding to all the teams. The team shall bring its two flags with allotted colour by the Association and with District Name. All the teams must report on February 20, 2024 by evening before 4:00 PM at Mini Stadium Udhampur,” Kuldip Magotra said, adding that the opening ceremony will start at 10:30AM at Govt. Boys Model Hr. Sec. School Udhampur and the teams must present before 10:00 AM.
