Srinagar, July 11: A three-day marathon meeting of the Institutional Review Board of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar concluded on Thursday.
More than 300 research proposals from 20 diverse medical branches including MD thesis, MCH research and individual research projects of many faculty members were discussed.
The highlight of the meeting was Centre for Disease Control(US)-AIIMS collaborated study on Burden and Sequelae of influenza, SARS-CoV-2 and other respiratory viruses associated Severe Acute Respiratory Infections among Adult Indian Population aged 18-60 years, which was presented and cleared.
This research aimed to monitor and mitigate influenza outbreaks following the COVID-19 pandemic, using insights gained during the global health crisis to enhance preparedness and response.
The meeting served as a crucial platform for doctors and researchers to discuss critical themes that shape modern medical research,
Technological innovation was another focal point, with participants exploring the potential of artificial intelligence, telemedicine, and digital health solutions to improve diagnostics, treatment, and patient outcomes.
Career counselling prog held Nawakadal College Sgr
Srinagar, July 11: SANKALP Hub For Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Srinagar, Department of Social Welfare organised career counselling cum sensitization programme under Beti Bachao Beti Padao in collaboration with Govt.Degree college Nawakadal for the female students of college.
The significance of the programme was to help in understanding the importance of career options like how to pursue different careers, selection of the appropriate career and aid on the development of confidence and skills. Various experts in this regard were invited who shared their expertise on various topics viz-a-viz career and its development, career opportunities after 10th and self-employment opportunities/ schemes.
The Principal Nawa Kadal College Prof. Dr Mohammad Farooq Mir while speaking on the occasion about Career counselling as a process that will help in knowing and understanding oneself and the world of work in order to make career, educational and life decisions.
Career counselling provides guidance in decision making, clarity in career goals, skill development, strategies for overcoming challenges, advice on job searches and increases confidence, he said.
Among other members present on the occasion were Ruqaya Ashraf District Mission Coordinator- HEW Srinagar, staff from SANKALP- Hub for Empowerment of Women Mission Shakti Srinagar faculty from the Nawa Kadal College Srinagar.
