Pampore man receives best farmer award

Srinagar, Sep 29: Irshad Ahmad Dar, a young and progressive farmer from Pampore has been awarded best with best farmer award for his outstanding contribution in the field of organic farming.
A resident of Patalbagh, Pampore, he received the best farmer award during International Conference on “Advances in Agriculture Veterinary and Allied Sciences for Improving Livelihood and Environmental Security (AAVASILES-2020)” held at the University of Kashmir from September 28 to 30.
The 33-year-old farmer owns 100 kanals of land and grows paddy, saffron, different types of vegetables etc. He has been encouraging and motivating youth towards organic farming and agriculture.
Dar said he is quick to adopt any kind of technology that comes in market. Besides that, he has been doing many experiments in his agricultural land in a modern way which has improved his produce.
Dar, a well-known farmer in Pampore, is also a recipient of Champion Farmer award which was given to him by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha last year in recognition to his outstanding contribution in the field of Saffron and vegetable production.
