"Dry Spell to Continue in J&K, Rain Likely from April 17," : MeT

Srinagar, April 15: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast largely dry weather across Jammu and Kashmir for the next few days, with intermittent spells of rain and thunderstorms expected later this week.

According to the forecast, weather conditions will remain generally dry on April 15, while April 16 is also expected to stay mostly dry, though a brief spell of light rain or thundershower may occur at a few places towards evening or night.

A change in weather is likely from April 17 to 18, with the region expected to witness generally cloudy conditions accompanied by light rain or thundershowers at many places, particularly during morning and forenoon hours. The MeT department has also warned of gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph and possible hailstorms at isolated locations.

On April 19, scattered areas may receive brief spells of light rain or thundershowers during the afternoon, while April 20 to 24 is forecast to remain dry.

Weather trends in April typically include moderate temperatures and occasional rainfall in Srinagar, aligning with the current forecast pattern 

The MeT Centre has advised farmers to continue agricultural operations till April 16, taking advantage of the prevailing dry conditions.
