Srinagar, July 18: Prominent politician and upcoming assembly candidate from Chadoora constituency Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) on Monday held a crucial meeting with Deputy Commissioner Budgam Akshay Labroo.
In his statement issued here, Zaffer said the purpose of this meeting was to discuss and ensure smooth and well-coordinated arrangements for the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram gatherings and processions in the district, particularly within the jurisdiction of SDM Chadoora.
“In the meeting, the importance of sanitation facilities along the procession routes was highlighted and the need for deployment of medical teams and ambulances, as well as the provision of first aid stations to promptly address any medical emergencies that may arise during the events was also emphasized. It was a fruitful meeting as DC Budgam listened to all these genuine submissions patiently and assured all possible help,” he said.
Recognizing the significance of well-lit surroundings, Zaffer said he requested the repair of dysfunctional street lights, including the high mass lights around Imambaras, ensuring they would be functional well before the important days of Muharram.
“The crucial aspect of cleanliness was also thoroughly discussed where I requested the DC Budgam to ensure that lanes, drains, and compounds inside the Imambaras, shrines, and procession routes are kept clean and well-maintained,” he said.
He demanded the enhancement of manpower to guarantee proper cleanliness throughout the Muharram days, underscoring the importance of a hygienic environment for the attendees and participants, terming it to be imperative.
In addition to it, Zaffer Mir sought time for a deputation from the Chadoora assembly constituency to address serious public grievances faced by the masses and their immediate redressal.
Acknowledging the significance of these concerns, Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo assured Zaffer Mir that time would be allocated for the deputation to meet and discuss the pressing issues, the statement said.
“The Deputy Commissioner’s assurance to allocate time for the deputation showcases a proactive and responsive administration that is dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by the masses,” Zaffer remarked.
The meeting between Zaffer Mir and the Deputy Commissioner was brief, yet focused on the key aspects of the arrangements for the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram events along with other pressing grievances of the locals of Chadoora.
