Budgam, Nov 23: A 23-year-old cricketer died on the spot after he was hit by a cricket ball in his chest while playing in the Narbal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday afternoon.
Sub-Inspector Ashiq Hussain from the Police Post Narbal told Rising Kashmir that a youth from Syed Pora Churpora village was playing cricket at the Narbal playground and he died on the spot after the ball hit his chest.
“He was shifted to Primary Health Center in Narbal where the doctors declared him brought dead on arrival,” he said.
The officer identified the deceased as Firdous Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, a resident of Syed Pora Churpora village.
