Kashmir’s young actor Mir Sarwar has succeeded in grabbing all attention and recognition in the entertainment industry with his exceptional acting and writing skills.
Two decades into the film industry has equipped Mir Sarwar with remarkable talent through a journey which he calls a significant process of learning.
Mir Sarwar has been part of blockbusters like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Jolly LLB 2 and Kesari and web series The Family Man, Bard of Blood, Bhram and Special Ops. Now, Sarwar has been seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmii and Dharma Productions film Sher Shah and Lihaf.
In a chat with Rising Kashmir Sarwar shares experiences of his journey in the industry and his upcoming projects this year.
“ My journey started in the mid-1990. I was studying in Delhi and during that time I started exploring modelling and theatre”, Mir Sarwar said.
Adding, “I got a modelling offer from a sports website and embarked on a journey of modelling. I got an opportunity to work closely with veteran thespian MK Raina. In my first play ‘Julius Caesar’ last seven days, I understood it was not easy to become an actor”, Mir said.
Mir Sarwar said that he did several workshops in theater and acting and learned from the experiences.
He said, “I directed in theater for the first time, in 2013. After that I did Phantom and then Bajrangi Baijan. In the meantime I did many serials also and got lot of experiences.”
Speaking about his latest work Sarwar said, “ My recent major project was Gaddar 2, apart from that I have shot a few other films and some shoots are midway. One of my small films will be released on June 30 and then Gadar 2 is releasing on Aug 11”, he said.
Adding, “Then I have some web series , one regional web series. There is one film written and directed by me called ‘Kuch Baqi Hai. We have finished some shooting in Ladakh , more shooting is scheduled in Kashmir and later in Mumbai.”
Mir has also worked in a series which was initially called ‘Grey Wars’, however its new name will be changed .
Speaking about his journey in the industry so far, Mir said, “Entertainment industry is never a smooth walk , sometimes it is very difficult to hang on especially for the newcomers to be a part of the dream world of entertainment. “
Mir Sarwar says, “ It is not that easy, it takes time to settle the stuff. Every profession needs training, every one works hard, if you are ready to give your lifetime to industry then only choose it as a career not just for fun. It is complete learning process there is no end to learning,
Sarwar has recently been a part of several other projects which include one web series called ‘Funbaaz’
“ I’m writing and directing Fundbaaz .It will be releasing this year and my own project“Kuch Baqi Hai’ which I mentioned will also be releasing this year.”
Mir Sarwar has established himself as an incredible actor and an inspiration for many.
“Ultimately everybody wants to grow. I want to grow as an actor as a professional, make, direct, write films, and produce films and be part of good cinema”, Sarwar said.
I want to tell stories which we miss, mostly on Kashmir. There are misconceptions about Kashmir that need to be cleared . There are humane stories, for me every aspect of filmmaking is on the cards”, Sarwar added.
