Jammu, Apr 12: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) showcased its commitment to academic excellence by hosting a comprehensive session titled “Design Thinking, Critical Thinking and Innovation Design,” in collaboration with an IIC activity.
Led by Er. Rajnish Magotra, Head of the Civil Engineering Department at YCET, the seminar delved into the intricacies of critical thinking, innovation design, and their pivotal role in today’s rapidly evolving world. With 24 years of teaching experience and a wealth of academic achievements under his belt, Magotra provided invaluable insights to the eager audience.
Magotra delineated the disparity between conventional and critical thinking, emphasizing the latter’s depth and analytical rigor. He stressed the enduring importance of aligning innovation with human needs and urged attendees to discern the “WHAT, HOW, and WHY” behind their endeavors.
Highlighting the diversity of perspectives, Magotra advocated for embracing individual uniqueness in the pursuit of innovation. He elucidated the five fundamental steps of design thinking – Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test – citing real-world examples such as Amul and Coca-Cola to illustrate the principles in action.
The seminar, marked by its interactive nature, provided attendees with a wealth of knowledge and practical insights. Culminating in a memento ceremony and a heartfelt vote of thanks, the event garnered accolades from Dean Academics YCET, Er. Dinesh Gupta, Senior Professor Er. K.R. Sharma, and Heads of various departments.
Director of YCET, Dr. (Prof.) Mukesh Kumar Rana, expressed pride in the success of the seminar, commending the YCET team for their dedication to advancing educational standards. The session not only enriched the audience but also underscored YCET’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and critical thinking among its students.
