Commissioner Secretary Cooperative, Yasha Mudgal, today chaired a mega Public Darbar at  Ramban   to listen to the issues and demands of the public, besides assessing the status of development works and beneficiary oriented schemes in the district.

Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary; Chairperson, District Development Council, Ramban, Dr. Shamshad Shan, Vice-Chairperson, Rabia Beigh, President MC, Sunita Sumbria, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons, various public representatives, besides the general public attended the Public Darbar.   

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary outlined the significance of public Darbar, saying that the main motive behind launching this Government- people interface programme is to ensure that not even a single person is deprived of  benefits of welfare and developmental schemes. She emphasized upon the people to ensure their proactive engagement with the district administration in taking the development profile of the district to top place.

Emphasizing on the improvement of literacy rate of the district, the Commissioner Secretary asked to control the dropout rate of the school and colleges, besides taking women education on priority for overall development of the society.

 Highlighting the role of Nasha Mukt youth in developing a flourishing society, the Commissioner Secretary asked the District Administration and people to jointly intensify Nasha Mukt campaign on mission mode to save the youth from drug addiction.

The Commissioner Secretary said that Public Darbar will be a regular feature and before chairing next Public Darbar, she will review the action taken by the departments on issues highlighted by the various Public representatives and general public to ensure redressal of all genuine issues.

The Commissioner Secretary said that all the issues will be examined and taken up for its redressal in a time bound manner at District level, Secretariat level and Central level as well as on a priority basis.

 Asserting Public feedback is a key to the implementation of welfare schemes, developmental projects and desired development of their areas, the Deputy Commissioner asked the people of district Ramban to come forward and take part in the planning and execution process of various developmental plans.

 Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, briefed the Commissioner Secretary about the initiatives being taken up by the District Administration in coordination with concerned officers to resolve all the issues of public interest pertaining to their respective departments.

In her address, the Chairperson highlighted various development achievements recorded in the district in last three years including construction of Yatri Niwas at Chanerkote, completion of various tunnels, viaducts, bridges and road stretches under ongoing NH-44 four lanning projects between Nashri and Banihal which made journey of commuters more easy and comfortable, implementation of JJM schemes, GI tagging status for Honey, augmentation of power receiving station, Maitra from 20 KVA to 40 KVA.

Meanwhile, during the darbar, DDC members and other public representatives also highlighted various issues and demands of public interests which includes construction of overhead bridges at Chanderkote and Lamber in Banihal over NH-44, development of Mahu and Rama Kunda area as tourist destination,  release of funds for sanctioned projects under Mission Youth, issuance of new ration cards, reopening of AWAS plus portal, settlement of left out villages of Gool and Banihal, construction of Auditorium at Ramban, snow cutters for Banihal and Gool, development of sports infrastructure to engage youth, release of funds for road projects sanctioned under various schemes, transfer of Dakwanglow  land to Health department for expansion of the District Hospital Ramban, deployment of staff in health centres, shortage of staff in various departments,  Girls Higher Secondary School for Ramban, High School for Maitra, completion and up-gradation of road projects of PMGSY, PWD and other departments, opening of maternity  and children hospital for Ramban and Banihal, bifurcation of Panchayats.

Expressing their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for organizing a medical camp at Dhandrath, they also appealed for organizing more camps in other places  for the convenience of people.

Later, the Commissioner Secretary along with other dignitaries inspected stalls displayed by the various departments. After inspecting the stalls, she gave away the keys and ownership documents to two beneficiaries under MUMKIN scheme, besides loan sanction letters to some PMEGP beneficiaries and an educational assistance of Rs.5,90,000 to the children of 150 labourers under JK Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board.

Among others, ADDC, Rajinder Sharma, ADC, Harbans Lal, ACR, Giasul Haq, ACD, PRIs, other senior officers and people in large numbers participated in the programme.
