Srinagar, June 12: Police constable Fayaz Ahmad, who was injured in a terror attack on July 12, 2022 at Lal Bazar, Srinagar attained martyrdom on Monday and a wreath laying ceremony was held in Kokernag Anantnag district of south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said in order to pay honour and respect to martyr police personnel Fayaz Ahmad, a resident of Lohersanzi, Kokernag Anantnag, who was injured in a terror attack on July 12, 2022 at Lal Bazar and attained martyrdom today, a wreath laying ceremony was held at his native village.
Officers of Police led by DIG IRP Kashmir, Commandant IRP-10th Bn, Commandant IRP-13th Bn, Commandant IRP-17th Bn, Dy. Commandants of IRP-10th Bn, 13th Bn, DySsP of IRP-10th and 11th Bns, SDPO Kokernag and SHO Kokernag, other senior Police Officers/Officials & locals of the area participated in the ceremony.
They also laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains and paid rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
Pertinent to mention here that on July 12, 2022, terrorists fired upon a Naka party near G.D Goenka Public School area of Lal Bazar Srinagar, resulting in martyrdom of ASI Mushtaq Aham and injuries to two personnel namely, HC Fayaz Ahmad and SPO Abu Bakar.
ADGP, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on behalf of J&K Police Parivar conveyed heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family of the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty.
“We pay our rich tributes to the martyr for his supreme sacrifice made in the line of duty and stand by his family at this crucial juncture,” he said.
