Work with more energy to achieve better results this year: DGP to officers

Jammu, Jan 10: “Identify the focus areas to fix the goals of augmentation and better policing for the welfare of people and for the organization,” said Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Dilbag Singh while chairing the 4th quarterly officers’ meeting at Police Headquarters here to review the progress achieved in the “targets & goals” set for the year 2022 for the Zones/Wings Police on different fronts.
All senior police officers attended the meeting while ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, range DIsG and district SSsP attended the meeting through video conferencing, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
The DGP complimented the zonal, range and district-level officers for their work supervision to achieve the set “targets & goals” for 2022. “In some areas, exceptional work has been done while in some areas, we need to gear up with more energy and commitment to achieve better results in the current year,” he said.
He also hailed the officers for achieving “better results” in challaning NDPS cases and said that hard work has to continue to book all those involved in the trade. He impressed upon the officers to improve the quality of investigation and prosecution to increase the convictions in all criminal cases, particularly UAPA and special crime cases.
The disposal of crime cases professionally plays a great role in image-building, Singh said, adding that a lot more work on the disposal of cases needs to be done. He directed that previous pendency cases should be cleared on priority saying people are expecting positive changes.
The police chief stressed augmenting and modernizing more checking and naka points on national highways and inter-district roads to strengthen the safe and secure environment for the people. He also directed the officers to increase the range of activities under the Civic Action Programme, particularly in border areas, to provide the youth in these areas with various platforms.
He directed the officers to review the records of history sheeters from time to time and open files of the persons found in illegal and anti-social activities and publicize such work by police.
The DGP called on modernizing training schedules for the personnel, especially those who are performing special duties, besides looking for more schemes for the welfare of NOK of martyrs and serving police personnel.
