Jammu, Jan 10: Reiterating his dedication to democratic processes, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, stated on Wednesday that he will remain in J&K until elections are conducted in the region.
Speaking at the Abhinandan Samaroh organized by the All Minority Employees Association of Kashmir at Abhinav Theatre in Jammu, the LG clarified that despite discussions about his potential involvement in politics, he neither wishes to contest elections nor engage in political activities.
“I want to make it clear that I neither want to contest elections nor have anything to do with politics. I will leave Jammu and Kashmir only after conducting elections here,” the LG said.
“The priority of the Modi government is to eradicate terrorism, and people supportive of this terrorist ecosystem have been identified,” stated LG Sinha. He emphasized that achieving peace is a deliberate process requiring sustained efforts, and the government is actively working towards this goal.
Those sympathetic to terrorism within the system have faced consequences, and ongoing investigations are addressing incidents, LG Sinha said adding that those incidents awaiting investigation will be thoroughly examined.
Addressing concerns about his consistency in statements across different regions of J&K, LG Sinha highlighted the importance of truthfulness in communication. He urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to identify individuals who speak differently in various regions to avoid misunderstandings.
“When a person speaks truth, there is no need to change language as it could only lead to complications. It is necessary for people of Jammu and Kashmir to identify such individuals to avoid mistakes and misunderstandings,” he added.
Responding to the concerns of Kashmiri Pandit (KP) employees, LG Sinha assured that the government is sensitive to their demands and is committed to addressing their concerns promptly through institutional mechanisms. He emphasized the administration’s sensitivity to the needs and aspirations of every section of society.
“Our aim is to fulfill the dreams of the common man, provide new heights of success to people’s aspirations, and empower every individual to contribute to a developed India,” LG Sinha said.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Lt Governor affirmed the determination of the UT Administration to eliminate terrorism and provide a safe and secure environment. He expressed confidence in eradicating the terror ecosystem from the soil of J&K, attributing the positive changes in people’s lives and living standards to peace and development initiatives.
“Terrorism is breathing its last breath and we will soon finish terror ecosystem from the soil of J&K. Peace and development has brought qualitative change in people’s lives and standard of living,” the Lt Governor said.
During the event, LG Sinha congratulated individuals and organizations from diverse fields honored for their outstanding contributions to society. He expressed happiness about witnessing people working with renewed commitment for a brighter future for the nation.
Reflecting on J&K’s rich cultural heritage, LG Sinha emphasized the need for collective efforts to restore its glorious past and promote virtues of culture, humanity, and selfless service. He assured the administration’s full support for the 5163 youth registered by the Relief & Rehabilitation Department for self-employment.
“J&K is the land of almost all major religions known to humankind. Respect for all religions, sects and co-existence has enriched cultural heritage. Everyone will have to work together to restore its glorious past and promote virtues of culture, humanity and selfless service,” the Lt Governor further added.
