Jammu, Feb 01: Maroof Anjum’s extraordinary bowling display and Bawandeep Kaur’s good show with the willow went in vain as Rajasthan thrashed Jammu and Kashmir by a big margin of 119 runs in the ongoing Women’s U-23 One-Day Trophy at MIG Cricket Club, Mumbai on Thursday.
Earlier, put into bat, Rajasthan scored a decent total of 207 runs in 47.2 overs. Diksha Saini, Dr Kanwar, Yaana Verma and Parwati scored 32, 31, 31 and 29 runs respectively, while Megha contributed 19 runs to the total.
Maroof Anjum was the pick of the bowlers for J&K, who captured 4 wickets by conceding 24 runs in her 5 overs, while Arveen Riyaz took 3 wickets by giving away 37 runs in 9.2 overs. Mariya Noorain, Kajal Bhagat and skipper Ananaya Sharma claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K continued their batting failure and the whole team bundled out for paltry 88 runs. Bawandeep Kaur top scored with 46 runs off 83 balls, studded with 6 fours and one six, while Lalita and Arveen Riyaz contributed 10 runs each.
Archana Yogi was the wrecker-in-chief who took 6 wickets by conceding 22 runs in her 9.3 overs, while ASP Maheshwari, Shanu and Yaana Verma claimed one wicket each.
