Shopian, March 08: Chief Education Officer Shopian on Wednesday said women have proven themselves in all the spheres of life and have excelled in every field, be it science and technology, politics and administration.
“A woman is a wonderful creation of God and every other creature is dependent on her,” CEO Shopian Mohammad Mushtaq said in his address at a function organized at DIET to commemorate ‘International Women’s Day’.
“Women as mother, sister and daughter always nurture the society with utmost love and care,” the CEO said.
The function was organized by the Chief Education Office Shopian in collaboration with Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shopian. The function, inaugurated by Chief Education Officer Shopian, was attended by Chief Education Officer Shopian, Mohammad Mushtaq, Principal DIET Shopian Ab Majid, Principal Govt Girls Higher Secondary School Shopian, Afrooza; District Cultural Coordinator Khursheed Ahmad and teaching, non-teaching staff of the Education Department.
Principal DIET Shopian, Abdul Majid emphasized women empowerment and strongly recommended the elimination of gender inequality. Other teachers including Nuzhat Rehman, Asma Hassan, and Maymoona Akhter threw light on multiple aspects of women empowerment and gender equality.
The function concluded with the speech of the Principal, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shopian who emphasized the role of women. The Principal said that women are capable to achieve anything through their willpower and determination.
The Chief Education Officer Shopian also addressed the grievances and suggestions forwarded by many of the participating female teachers.
