Srinagar, Nov 26: The decision of the Director of School Education Kashmir to announce winter vacations for schools in a phased manner has been welcomed by parents and students across the Kashmir valley.
Lubna Bashir, a female student, said that the announcement of winter vacations by the Jammu and Kashmir Government will provide relief to students from the cold wave during morning and evening hours in the valley.
“The parents and students of school children are satisfied with the phased-wise winter vacations for students,” she said.
Lubna added that she has two siblings studying in primary classes in the same school, and it was difficult for them to reach school by foot during the morning hours.
Farooq Ahmad, a parent, said that parents of school-going children were also facing difficulties in dropping and picking up their children during the morning hours. Due to the drop in day temperature, students were also facing a lot of problems in schools as there were no proper heating arrangements for the students in the schools.
“We are very grateful to the Jammu and Kashmir Government and the Director of School Education Kashmir for announcing winter vacations for students across the Kashmir valley,” he said.
