Srinagar, Dec 02: Winter tourist destinations will remain abuzz with adventure sports in the Kashmir, an official said on Sunday.
A senior official of the tourism department told Rising Kashmir that for the first time, adventure sports activities will be carried out in Sonamarg, Yousmarg and Gurez.
He stated that earlier adventure sports activities were used to take place at Gulmarg only but this time the authorities are exploring other destinations as well.
The preparations to conduct these sports events at these destinations began early this year, and after many review meetings, the administration decided to launch the maiden adventure sports at these destinations.
“The department of tourism in Kashmir is also planning to launch helicopter services to these places, so these destinations will remain abuzz with tourists.” tourism official said.
The senior official said that previously these destinations were closed in peak winters, but this winter most of the winter tourist destinations would remain open.
The department of Cable Corporation has also installed a ski lift at Sonamarg in central Kashmir, and the hoteliers were also directed to customize their hotels to provide better facilities to visitors.
“The aim of organizing these sports activities at these locations is to show tourists Kashmir beyond Gulmarg and Pahalgam.” Sonamarg, Doodhphatri, Yousmarg, and several other locations are better winter tourist destinations, and visitors can enjoy them as well.
