Jammu, Feb 15: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi along with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Commissioner Devansh Yadav on Saturday conducted an extensive tour to inspect the ongoing development works in the constituency.
During the visit, the BJP leader and the JMC Commissioner inspected key locations, including Dewana Mandir, Parade Khokha Market, and the under-construction multi-storey parking facility with shops at Parade. The tour aimed to assess the progress of these development projects and ensure their timely completion for the benefit of the public.
Sethi emphasised the urgent need for the renovation of the historic Akhara, highlighting its cultural and religious significance. He directed officials to expedite the restoration work and ensure that it was done with precision and quality.
Laying stress on the vision of making the East Constituency a model constituency, Sethi underscored the importance of incorporating modern amenities to enhance the standard of living for residents. “The BJP-led government is committed to holistic urban development, ensuring better roads, sanitation, drainage, and parking facilities for the people,” he said, adding, “The East Constituency must set an example of planned urban development with improved civic infrastructure. Our focus is on creating a constituency that is not only modern but also retains its historical and cultural essence.”
The JMC Commissioner, Devansh Yadav, assured full support in executing the required developmental works, including upgrading roads, drainage, sanitation, and the renovation of heritage sites. “JMC is committed to providing all necessary assistance to make the constituency more livable and well-equipped with essential facilities,” he said.
Residents and local shopkeepers expressed their appreciation for the efforts of Yudhvir Sethi and the JMC administration in addressing civic issues and accelerating developmental projects. The tour concluded with an assurance from both leaders that all necessary steps will be taken to transform the East Constituency into a model urban area.
