Srinagar, Aug 23: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Anand Jain on Friday emphasised the importance of coordination among various forces in light of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections.
Speaking at a key meeting at PCR Jammu, ADGP Jain focused on the induction of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) units, their strategic mobilisation, and potential operational challenges.
He highlighted the need for seamless communication and coordination between forces. ADGP directed officers to expedite the induction plan and ensure all necessary resources are prepared for a smooth deployment. Discussions during the meeting included logistical support, such as accommodation and transportation for CAPF personnel.
“During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various related issues, including the allocation of accommodation, transportation, and other logistical support required for the CAPF personnel,” he said.
During the meeting, ADGP Jammu, Jain urged all the officers to remain vigilant, proactive in addressing any challenges that may arise during the induction and deployment of the CAPF units.
“During the meeting a comprehensive action plan was laid out for the timely induction and mobilization of CAPF units, with clear responsibilities assigned to the respective officers,” he said.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from CAPF which include; IG CRPF, IG BSF, DIG SSB, DIG CISF, CO of CRPF and other representatives of various agencies.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pulwama on Friday welcomed CAPF companies arriving in the district for election duties as part of the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly (GELA)-2024.
A spokesman said that Pulwama Police assured full cooperation and coordination with the CAPF forces to facilitate their responsibilities and ensure the peaceful and orderly execution of the electoral process.
In a heartfelt gesture, the officers of Police District Pulwama greeted the incoming troops with enthusiasm and respect.
“The Adhoc Commandant and Company Commanders were presented with bouquets as tokens of goodwill and camaraderie, symbolizing the strong partnership between the Police and CAPF in maintaining law and order during the elections,” he said.
The spokesman said that officers of the newly inducted companies expressed their gratitude to the Pulwama Police for the warm welcome and overwhelming response.
