Srinagar, May 03: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) convened a workers’ meeting in the Khansahab area of Budgam district during which they highlighted the pivotal role of party cadres in securing maximum voter turnout in support of the party’s candidate Aamir Bhat.
Addressing the gathering, G M Saroori, Vice President of DPAP, called for electing Bhat to champion the issues of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in Parliament. Saroori said J&K faces challenges since the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A in August 2019, and said there is a need to confront these challenges on the parliamentary platform.
Salman Nizami, in his address, drew attention to the plight of thousands of young individuals detained as undertrials both within and outside Jammu and Kashmir. He said that DPAP candidates if elected, would advocate for the rights of these individuals and address their grievances effectively.
DPAP candidate for the 2-Srinagar parliamentary constituency, Aamir Bhat, urged voters to cast their ballots in his favour, assuring them of his commitment to amplifying the voices of the common people in Parliament.
The event also witnessed the participation of Mohammad Amin Bhat, Provincial President of DPAP, Peer Bilal, President of Central Kashmir, Haleem Khan, Secretary of Central Kashmir, Aqib Khanday, Gh Mohidin Bhat, Vijay Koul, and other senior leaders of DPAP.
