Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday appealed to the people of the Sonawari constituency to support and vote for the party’s candidate, Imtiyaz Parray, in the upcoming assembly polls. He was addressing a public rally at Wangipora Sumbal today.

The rally was organized as part of the ongoing election campaign, drawing a large crowd of local residents, both men and women.

Following the event, Imtiyaz Parray officially submitted his nomination papers as the Apni Party’s candidate for the 14-Sonawari constituency.

Addressing the gathering, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urged the people to support and vote for Imtiyaz Parray, promising that if elected, the party would address all local issues and grievances effectively.

He said, “I request your support for Imtiyaz Parray Sahib in these elections. He is one of you and understands your needs, issues, and grievances. I assure you that Apni Party, if elected, will ensure prompt redressal of the public issues that the residents of Sonawari are facing. We have a clear vision not only for this constituency but for the entire Jammu and Kashmir. We are committed to serving the people for the long term.”

He added, “Apni Party is committed to ensuring a dignified life for the people, especially the youth, who have been grappling with numerous challenges here. A large number of young people are imprisoned, and thousands face charges related to stone-pelting and other offenses. We are committed to securing the release of detainees, announcing a general amnesty, and guiding them towards a path of peace, prosperity, and well-being. Our youth is our future, and we will not leave them at the mercy of adverse situations caused by their past mistakes. We also see that many of our young people are facing difficulties in obtaining passports. The lack of job opportunities has left lakhs of young men and women struggling with unemployment. All these problems need to be resolved, and I assure you that if you give Apni Party a mandate in the upcoming elections, we will ensure the swift redressal of these issues affecting our younger generation.”

He went on to say, “If Apni Party is elected to power, we will fill all job vacancies in the government sector within six months of taking office. This initiative would provide employment to approximately two lakh people. Furthermore, we will regularize 1.25 lakh daily wagers within three months of assuming office.”

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari also assured that “Apni Party would repeal the existing geology and mining policies, which allow outsiders to secure contracts for minerals and natural resources. Locals should have rights to these natural resources. The current laws and policies are adversely affecting the interests of the local people.”

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari applauded Imtiaz Parray Sahib for his unwavering dedication and loyalty to the party.

Addressing the rally, the party’s Chief Spokesperson, Muntazir Mohiuddin, took a dig at the traditional political parties and their leaders.

He said, “From day one, our political opponents—the traditional political parties and their leaders—have constantly run a defamation campaign with baseless allegations against Apni Party. In contrast, Apni Party’s agenda and policies have been clear and unambiguous. From the beginning, we have been committed to our pro-people agenda.”

He explained it further, “Apni Party was established post August 5, 2019, when the entire Jammu and Kashmir was in a great cheos and uncertainty. At that time, people were fearing the potential loss of their demography and identity. Ironically, the traditional political parties and their leaders kept quiet at that time, leaving people helpless and in deep distress. But we decided to step forward and stand by our people. This is how and why Apni Party was established on March 8, 2020.”

“Apni Party took the proactive step of engaging with leaders in Delhi. Through our efforts, we succeeded in convincing the central government to provide an assurance that no demographic changes would be made here and that the people of J&K would continue to have their special rights regarding jobs and agricultural land in J&K.”

Muntazir said that Apni Party is committed to continuing its efforts to implement its agenda and policies for a sustained peace, prosperity, and development of J&K.

The party candidate Imtiyaz Parray while requesting people for their support, said, “I am in politics with a commitment to serving my people. I ask for your trust and mandate to serve you effectively. I will never disappoint you. I am not like those who have been in power only to deceive people for their own political and economic gain. I am truly here to serve you.”

Besides the party President, Chief Spokesperson, and Sonawari candidate, the prominent party leaders who addressed the rally or who were present on the occasion included Provincial Joint Secretary Noor Mohammad Bhat, Joint Secretary Bandipora Abdul Rahim Bhat, DDC Hajin-C Farzial Ahmad Dar, DDC Hajin-A and Vice District President Women’s Wing Bandipora Naza Begum, Ex BDC Naidkhai and Sub Zone President Bandipora Ghulam Nabi Ganaie, Former Chairman Municipal Committee Hajin Irshad Ahmad Wani, Imtiyaz Parray’s Political Adviser Sagar sarfaraz , Vice Zone President Sonawari Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Office incharge Sonawari Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Zonal President Sonawari Habibullah Sheikh, Zone Secretary Bandipora Abdul Rashid Shiekh, Block President Sumbal, Nisar Ahmad Khan, Block President Ganastan Muzaffar Ahmad Ganaie, Block President Nowgam Sajad Ahmad Dar, Block President Hajin Gh Mohd Dar, Block President Naidkhai Mehraj ud din Mir, Block President Ajas Manzoor Ahmed Rather, Ex- Councillor MC Sumbal and Town incharge MC Sumbal Shabir Ahmad Lone, Vice Block President Sumbal Ghulam Rasool Mir, and others.
