Srinagar, Sept 18 : Voting for the first phase of assembly elections began on Wednesday morning, with long queues forming well before the start of polling.
Polling, which starts at 7 am, is scheduled to be held in 24 assembly constituencies across J&K. The four districts of South Kashmir and three districts of the Jammu division are heading to the polls today to elect their representatives for the upcoming Legislative Assembly.
A good voter turnout is expected, as these elections are being held for the first time since the delimitation process and the abrogation of Article 370.
