Anantnag, Sept 18: With the first phase of Assembly elections held today in Jammu and Kashmir, the voters from South Kashmir have cast their vote as the people want a change at ground level which they said has remained affected since past few years.
Mohammad Yaseen, one of the voters from Awantipora told Rising Kashmir that in the absence of the elected government in Jammu and Kashmir, the people in Kashmir valley have been affected. “This time, voters have come out of their homes to cast their votes to choose a representative who can work for the welfare of the people in the area,” he said.
” People from the various districts of Pulwama want to choose a local representative, who can listen to the voice of the voiceless people and fulfil their demands that have never been heard by any government and have never been fulfilled by any government, “he said.
Another elderly voter from the Tral constituency said that since 2018, peoples’ issues in their villages have not been resolved at ground level.
“The people have hope and expectations from the upcoming government that it will provide proper facilities to every village of the tral constituency through which people can be benefited,” he said.
Zahid Ahmad, another first time voter from the Srigufwara-Bijbehara Constituency said, “I have voted for the first time. When the government is formed, it should provide jobs to unemployed youth.”
