Visiting Officers conduct wide range of activities across 81 Panchayats in Doda District

Doda, Oct 30: The round second of fourth phase of the ambitious Back to Village Program started on Sunday in District Doda as the second batch of 81 officers reached their allotted Panchayats, under the overall supervision of DDC Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan.
All the scheduled activities were conducted in the villages by visiting officers. The officers inspected Government offices, Schools, CSCs, Play Grounds, Anganwadi Centres, Tourist places, Banks etc. They also visited newly developed Amrit Sarovars in the respective Panchayats.
The officers interacted with the PRIs and the Public along with officials from line departments and educated them about the individual and community welfare schemes. They also elaborated the benefits and scope of the self-employment schemes sponsored by different government organisations/ departments. Besides, many rural assets including Rural Haats were inaugurated, while Land passbooks, Golden Health Cards and E- Shram cards were distributed among the beneficiaries.
District Development Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan, along with SSP Abdul Qayoom toured different Panchayats being covered in the second round of B2V4.
The DDC interacted with visiting officers, PRIs and General public. He participated in special Gram Sabhas at Dugga (Chinta) and Lower Arnora Panchayats. He informed the public that this unique initiative of UT administration has the sole motive of bringing administration at the doorsteps of the people. He laid emphasis on the greater public participation in the programme to enable the administration to assess the aspirations of the people. He also urged the public to help the administration in the fight against Drug menace and unhealthy lifestyle. He spoke on the importance of cleanliness and Swachhta in protecting the fragile ecosystem/ environment.
Earlier, the Visiting Officers received grand reception and overwhelming response from the people on the day one of 2nd round of Back to Village phase-4 programme.
Several officers deputed by GAD visited their allotted panchayats and conducted the scheduled activities.
