Jammu, Feb 16: In observance of Surya Saptami, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid homage to Lord Shri Martand at the revered Shri Martand Surya Temple in Paloura, Jammu, today.
Participating in the Mahayagya organised by the Shri Martand Tirath Trust, he fervently prayed for the peace, progress, and prosperity of all.
Interacting with devotees and well-wishers, the Lt. Governor extended his warmest greetings on this auspicious occasion, emphasizing Jammu Kashmir’s historical reputation as a bastion of spirituality and knowledge dissemination. He highlighted the region’s enduring commitment to fostering an inclusive cultural milieu and preserving traditional wisdom.
In alignment with the vision of ‘Vikas Bhi Virasat Bhi’ under the esteemed guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lt. Governor Sinha underscored the transformation of this vision into a grassroots movement. He urged citizens to recommit themselves to advancing social cohesion and collaborating for the betterment of marginalised sections of society.
The event witnessed the presence of AK Sidha, President of the Martand Tirath Trust, along with Avtar Krishan, Chairman, and TK Tickoo, General Secretary, alongside members of the Trust and individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Arvind Karwani, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) J&K, and senior officials of the UT Administration also attended the ceremony.
