Chandigarh, June 11: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala on Sunday said that due to significant changes made in industrial policies, the State was able to attract an investment of Rs 35,000 crores. He said that today Maruti-Suzuki is setting up its new plant at Kharkhoda IMT, which will provide employment to more than 15,000 youth.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing the Vijay Sankalp public meeting organized at Kharkhoda. He said that the Maruti-Suzuki plant being established at Kharkhoda IMT will bring industrial and employment revolution in this area. He said that Kharkhoda is moving forward to establish its own identity like Gurugram in the coming times.
He said that Maruti is expediting its work to set up its plant in the stipulated time. With the launch of Maruti, many more companies will be established in this area, which will give impetus to industrial development. 75 percent reservation was given to the youth of Haryana in local private jobs so that our youth do not have to go to other states for employment.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that in the previous governments when farmers’ crops were damaged due to natural calamities, the farmers had to wait for more than two years for the compensation to come, but within 30 days, the present government paid Rs 181 crores into the farmers’ bank account.  “Today, 1000 e-libraries have been opened by the government in the state to empower rural youth. Apart from this, community centres are being built in the villages so that the people of the villages can organise social functions in those centres. Today, drinking water arrangements are made in every village of the state, construction of stadiums for children to play, paved streets and roads in villages are being made by the government, so that rural development can also be encouraged,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government started the Amrit Sarovar scheme to beautify the ponds, under which more than 1400 ponds have been beautified in the state so far. Under this scheme, the government has set a target to beautify 8,000 ponds in the state, which will be completed very soon.
