EMPOWERING TRIBAL PROGRESS

In a resounding display of solidarity and participation, the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ is currently weaving through the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, evoking warm welcomes from communities along its path. Commencing on the auspicious occasion of Bhagawan Birsa Munda’s Janam Jayanti from Budhal to Gurez, the Yatra has traversed over 4,000 Panchayats, capturing the essence of diverse cultures and landscapes.

The journey, which commenced with the participation of Shina Tribe in Gurez, witnessed remarkable public engagement, with participation steadily increasing. Surpassing expectations, over 2.5 million people from Jammu and Kashmir have actively joined the Yatra, embracing its vision for a transformed and developed India.

Over the last four years, significant measures for tribal welfare undertaken in UT of JK . Notably, 374 students are now enrolled in six Eklavya Model Residential Schools, ensuring access to quality education. An annual scholarship fund exceeding Rs 119 crore has been allocated, benefiting over 2.20 lakh tribal students.

Amendments to the Indian Forest Act have liberated bamboo cultivation, providing economic opportunities. The establishment of the Development and Welfare Board for De-Notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Communities marks a crucial step towards inclusivity.

The transformative journey of Viksit Bharat by 2047 aligns with the collective efforts envisioned by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. It echoes the commitment to uplift tribal communities, fostering a future where respect, rights, and opportunities are intrinsic to their socio-economic growth.
