Vigilance Awareness Week: ACB organises awareness prog on corruption, its consequences

Anantnag, Aug 08: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Anantnag on Thursday organised an awareness-cum-interaction programme here in connection with ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week 2024.
The programme was attended by SSP ACB, Abdul Waheed Shah; Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Fayaz Ahmad Banday; Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Faheem Behaqi; DySP, Sheikh Mudasir and SrPO Yasir Ahmad, besides other officers, officials of District Administration Anantnag and employees of all the departments and senior citizens.
During the event, awareness was generated about corruption and exploring strategies for combating it. The speakers from ACB which included SSP ACB, DySP and SrPO provided detailed PowerPoint presentations on the structural organisation and functioning of ACB, registration of complaints in ACB and disposal thereof and anti-corruption laws.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Assistant Commissioner Development delivered speeches on various issues related to Bribery and corruption, its consequences on individuals and society and the role of Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVOs) in combating the menace of corruption.
The event concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, where employees, civilians, and media personnel raised pertinent queries. The session fostered a lively discussion and provided valuable insights into the ongoing efforts against corruption.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all participants and underscoring the collective commitment to combat corruption.
