Srinagar, Mar 14: The Health Department Kashmir has ordered an inquiry following the circulation of a video on social media alleging negligence at SDH Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A video circulating on social media shows a dog sitting on a chair inside a hospital ward at Chadoora Hospital, raising concerns about hygiene and patient safety. The incident has sparked criticism, with many questioning the hospital’s sanitation and security measures.
An official of DHSK said the inquiry team will conduct an in-depth analysis of electronic records, CCTV footage, duty rosters and conduct interviews of patients and staff members to ascertain facts, fix responsibility on any errors of omission or commission and recommend action to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
“The committee will also examine the possibility that the video was deliberately set-up or edited to defame a govt. hospital by vested interests who have made earlier attempts to defame public hospitals and mislead patients and public as in case of SDH Bijbehara and CHC Pattan where orchestrated/fake videos were uploaded on social media,” the official said.
In such a case, the committee will recommend action under the relevant sections of the law against the perpetrators of such nefarious attempts, if any.
The official said DHSK remains steadfast and completely committed to the highest standards of professionalism and will not tolerate any laxity at any level.
