Kathua, July 10: The Weekly Block Diwas proceedings for Block Kathua were held at the Conference Hall of the DC office complex, presided over by Vice Chairman, DDC Kathua, Raghunandan Singh in presence of ADC Kathua, Ranjit Singh.
CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur, CMO, CEO, XENs of PHE, PWD, Irrigation, DFO, other District and Sectoral level officers, and public representatives were also present.
The proceedings commenced with Ex Sarpanch Sahar highlighting issues related to the incomplete CFC Building. In response, the XEN REW was directed to escalate the matter to higher authorities to expedite the building’s completion.
Ex Sarpanch Kharote presented concerns regarding the slow pace of JJM works, the dilapidated condition of the link road, the bifurcation of Ration Cards, the posting of Patwari in Halqa Kharote, the completion of pending building work at GHSS Kharote, and the slow pace of PMGSY work.
Ex Sarpanch Logate brought attention to the need for a boundary wall for the local Tubewell and the provision of a flyover on the railway line.
Other issues raised by the public included the formation of Village Defence Committees in Border and Kandi villages, illegal tree felling, solutions for the monkey menace in the Kandi belt of Kathua, and incidents of illegal mining.
Addressing the issue of slow pace of JJM works in Kharote, the XEN PHE informed that the pace of work will increase as the dry dugwell has been taken up and the construction of a new Tubewell will start soon, following the completion of the tendering process. He assured that the boundary wall of the Tubewell will be constructed shortly.
It was informed in the meeting that the repair of the link road will be addressed by the concerned executing agency in a timely manner.
ADC Kathua assured that the vacant post of Patwari will be filled as a priority.
Regarding the issue of illegal tree felling, the DFO Kathua emphasized that any such incidents should be reported to the Forest Department promptly, enabling swift action against the perpetrators.
Vice Chairman DDC Raghunandan Singh assured that issues related to the monkey menace and the formation of VDCs will be addressed at appropriate forums to ensure public concerns are resolved effectively.
ADC Kathua directed all stakeholder departments to resolve issues related to their departments in a time-bound manner, ensuring efficient redressal of public grievances.
