Srinagar, May 14: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids at 11 locations in Jammu and Kashmir following the killing of a non-local street vendor in Jablipota, Bijbehara. The aim is to uncover a broader criminal conspiracy related to the incident, which occurred on April 17, sparking widespread outrage.
Accompanied by local police and CRPF personnel, SIA sleuths conducted early morning raids at various sites in Anantnag, Kulgam, and Shopian of South Kashmir. The probe is linked to case FIR No. 87/2024 registered at the Bijbehara Police Station.
The aim of the raids, according to a police official, is to uncover the larger criminal conspiracy behind Sah’s murder. During the searches, the SIA seized several items, including mobile phones, electronic gadgets, and documents believed to be pertinent to the investigation. These items will undergo forensic examination and analysis as part of the ongoing probe.
On April 17, unidentified terrorists shot dead the non-local vendor in the Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. RajuSha, a resident of Bihar, was critically injured in the attack and later succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
In response to the tragic incident, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack, expressing solidarity with the bereaved family. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to providing full support to security forces in combating terrorism.
“My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The administration has given a free hand to the security forces to deal with the terrorists, and we will continue to combat such acts of terrorism firmly and decisively,” said Lieutenant Governor Sinha.
