Rajouri, April 16: In a symbolic gesture celebrating culture, heritage and environmental responsibility, the Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, Wednesday planted a Chinar tree on the university campus. The tree was a special gift from an eminent poet and literary figure Ushaaq Kishtawari, who also graced the occasion with his presence.
The planting ceremony highlighted the university’s commitment to preserving Kashmir’s ecological and cultural identity. Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to Ushaaq Kishtawari for the meaningful gesture and emphasized the importance of green spaces in academic institutions.
The event was attended by senior faculty members, and university staff, all of whom appreciated the initiative and pledged their support for environmental sustainability on campus.
