Bandipora, Nov 16: Additional Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Punya Salila Srivastava Thursday asserted that the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” (VBSY) is a proactive initiative aimed at narrowing developmental disparities in tribal areas across the nation.
Talking to reporters during her visit to Gurez Valley as part of the VBSY initiative, Srivastava said that the goal of VBSY is to promote development and advancement on a nationwide scale so as to ensure comprehensive growth through various centrally sponsored welfare schemes.
She said that the collaborative effort of officials, locals and Panchayat Raj institutions aims to strategically plan inclusive and sustainable development, reaching every corner of the country.
The primary objective is to ensure effective outreach and the last-mile delivery of the government’s developmental initiatives, particularly to those in the most remote and underserved areas of the country, she added.
She further said that VBSY exemplifies the government’s firm commitment to propel every part of the nation towards becoming a stronger, more developed, and vibrant India.
Earlier, the Additional Secretary also inspected various stalls installed by different departments. She also handed over authority and sanction letters to various beneficiaries pertaining to welfare and income generation schemes.
Srivastava also handed over keys of vehicles under district capex, among the beneficiaries besides keys of mechanised agricultural machinery were also handed to unemployed youth.
As a closing note, she extended congratulations to the residents of Gurez for actively participating in the VBSY events held in the border valley.
