Baramulla, June 17: The dead body of a resident from Uttar Pradesh was found in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
According to a police official, local fishermen found a dead body floating in the Jhelum River and immediately reported it to the authorities.
The deceased has been identified as Pintu, son of Ved Prakash, a 32-year-old individual hailing from Kabirpora Ferozabad, Uttar Pradesh, who was currently residing in Muslimpeer Sopore.
Police authorities confirmed that a missing person report had been filed three days prior at the Sopore Police Station.
A police officer stated that an investigation into the matter has been initiated, aiming to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Pintu’s death.
