UT Foundation Day: DC inaugurates painting competition at Bandipora

As part of ongoing UT Foundation Day celebrations, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Friday inaugurated a mega painting competition organised by Municipal Council Bandipora in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora and School Education Department Bandipora.

Students from across different educational institutions of the district took part in the mega painting competition held at Nishat Park Bandipora.

The DC said that the district is actively participating in the celebrations, with its educational institutions playing a crucial role in keeping the spirit alive. He said that as J&K prepares to celebrate its upcoming Union Territory (UT) Foundation Day, schools in Bandipora district are abuzz with a series of activities.

Dr Owais said that activities are being organised department wise across the district in order to celebrate ensuing UT Foundation Day.

Meanwhile, the educational institutions in Bandipora have organized a series of events and activities to commemorate the significant day. The activities include painting, cultural performances, art exhibitions, debates, and special lectures that focus on the history, culture, and significance of the region within the broader context of India on topics like ‘Corruption Free and Poverty Free future’ and ‘Ideals of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

Additionally, many schools have organized community service initiatives as part of the Foundation Day celebrations, reinforcing the message of unity and community spirit.

The District Administration of Bandipora has extended its support to these school-based activities, acknowledging the role they play in fostering a sense of identity and belonging among the youth.

Among others, the DC was accompanied by President MC Bandipora Basharat Najar, Chief Education Officer Bandipora Mohammad Amin Beigh, EO MC Aijaz Ahmad, besides other district and sectoral officers.
