Srinagar, July 29: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday called on the administration to ensure all necessary arrangements are made for devotees attending the annual Urs Mubarak of Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah, widely known as Nanga Baji Sahib, in the Malangam area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora.
The week-long Urs of Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) begins on August 04, 2024, with a large number of devotees expected to visit the revered shrine as per tradition.
In a statement issued here, Altaf Bukhari said, “As the auspicious occasion of the annual Urs of the revered saint, Hazrat Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah (Nanga Baji Sahib), is beginning of August 4, I request the administration to make all necessary arrangements to ensure that devotees are provided with adequate facilities during their visit to the shrine.”
“Traditionally, the revered shrine of Nanga Baji attracts large crowds during the Urs days. Therefore, it is imperative that the administration ensures all necessary facilities, including the availability of electricity, drinking water, and transport, are sufficiently provided for the devotees. Also, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the area and around the sacred site is of utmost importance,” he added.
Meanwhile, the party’s district president for Bandipora, Syed Shafat Kazmi, has appealed to the local administration to make all the necessary arrangements for the smooth observation of the annual Urs of Hazrat Nanga Baji Sahib. Kazmi has extended greetings to the devotees on this revered occasion.
Meanwhile, the Apni Party President expressed grief and sorrow over the death of four people in a mysterious blast at Sher Colony, Sopore on Monday.
Pertinently, a powerful explosion occurred at Sher Colony in Sopore when a scrap dealer was unloading material from a truck, resulting in grave injuries to four people, who later succumbed to their injuries.
Bukhari said, “It is heartbreaking to learn about the tragic incident in Sopore that claimed four precious lives today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of those who died in the mysterious blast. May the Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed souls and bestow strength upon the bereaved families to endure the pain of this irreparable loss.”
