Srinagar, June 25: With an atmosphere filled with profound spirituality, the Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA), affectionately known as Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) and Amir-e-Kabir unfolded in Srinagar amidst great reverence and religious fervor. 
The sacred event, held at Khanqah-e-Moula in the Downtown area, witnessed a remarkable congregation of devoted souls who gathered to pay homage to the illustrious saint and reflect upon his profound contribution in spreading the light of Islam throughout the valley of Kashmir.
Amidst heat, devotees from all walks of life, ranging from women, children, and the elderly, made their way to the revered Khanqah-e-Moula shrine, brimming with anticipation and devotion. The atmosphere hummed with a sense of unity and spiritual enthusiasm, as the faithful eagerly awaited the commencement of the day’s events.
Scholars and learned individuals, enlightened torchbearers of knowledge, took to the podium to shed light on the extraordinary life and remarkable teachings of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA). They expounded upon his tireless efforts and unwavering dedication in promoting the message of peace, love, and compassion that Islam embodies. Through Amir-e-Kabir’s teachings and exemplary conduct, the saint played an instrumental role in introducing and establishing the foundations of Islam in the valley of Kashmir, leaving an indelible impact on its cultural and spiritual landscape.
The zenith of the day’s events arrived during the Zuhr prayers when an awe-inspiring sight unfolded. Thousands of worshippers congregated, forming a sea of devoted souls, united in their pursuit of spiritual enlightenment.
“The Urs of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) serves as a reminder of the rich spiritual heritage and the unbreakable bond between the people of Kashmir and their Islamic roots. It is a time when the community comes together to celebrate the life of a luminary whose teachings continue to inspire and guide generations. The event not only provides an opportunity for introspection but also strengthens the communal fabric by fostering unity, harmony, and a sense of shared purpose,” Ayoub, a devotee said.
The Khanqah-e-Moula, an iconic spiritual abode, witnessed a constant stream of devotees throughout the day, reaffirming the enduring legacy of Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) in the hearts of the people. 
The annual Urs of Shah-e-Hamdan, who is considered the founder of Islam in Kashmir, is observed every year on the 6th Zil-Hijjah of the Islamic calendar.
 Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdani(RA) a luminary of wisdom and piety, hailed from the rich heritage of Iran. A scholar, poet, and revered Sufi Muslim saint, he dedicated his life to the propagation of Islam across Central and South Asia. In the year 774 Al Hijri, Hazrat Mir Syed Ali Hamdanil embarked on his first journey to the captivating valley of Kashmir, accompanied by a devoted entourage of 700 followers. He etched his teachings into the hearts of the Kashmiri people, leaving an indelible mark on their spiritual journey.
The administration of Khanqah-e-Moula told Rising Kashmir that remarkable arrangements were made by authorities to facilitate the devotees on the occasion. 
They said that they are grateful to see such overwhelming participation and devotion from the people of Srinagar and beyond.
 
 
Waqf Board Chairperson takes stock of arrangement at Ziyarat Shah-e-Hamdan (RA) 
Srinagar, June 25: Minister of State & Chairperson J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi on Sunday paid a visit at Khankah-e-Maula in Srinagar to stock of the arrangements put in place by the Board & other government departments on the occasion of Annual Urs of Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabir MIr Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) popularly known as Shah-e-Hamdan in Kashmir.
She expressed her satisfaction over the arrangements but gave orders for on-the-spot implementation for correction of some errors at the ground. Dr Andrabi spoke to the devotees and emphasised on them to adhere to the cleanliness norms at this revered place of the great spiritual personality. She also talked to the vendors on the spot and requested them to desist from throwing the discarded things on the road. 
Dr Darakhshan talked to different representatives from different government departments and instructed them to work in coordination for better delivery of services. Later Dr Andrabi spoke to the media and said that Ameer-e-Kabir propagated peace & spiritual excellence and also gave us an integrated welfare model for economic and social development.
