Urban Local Bodies to establish 24×7 control room in Gulmarg, Tangmarg

Srinagar, Feb 07: The Urban Local Bodies Kashmir (ULB) is going to establish a 24×7 Control room in Gulmarg and Tangmarg for the upcoming 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games in February. The objective of this initiative is to provide immediate and efficient support to ensure the smooth operation of the event.
Mir Tafveez, the Executive officer of MC Tangmarg-Gulmarg and Kunzer told the Rising Kashmir, the urban local bodies Kashmir have already conducted several special sanitation drives from Magam road to Gulmarg road. Additional special drives will also be initiated, starting from Narbal to Gulmarg road, in a phased manner.
“We will establish 24×7 Control Rooms in Gulmarg and Tangmarg to provide all possible support to those in need” Tafveez said.
He said that the establishment of a “Polythene surrender kiosk” near the toll gate in Tangmarg, where tourists and local visitors can surrender their polythene bags and receive alternative bags. Pamphlets regarding environmental pollution are also being distributed to create awareness among tourists and visitors about safeguarding the environment.
“We will install portal dustbins throughout Gulmarg. Additionally, anti-skid chains, 4×4 snow clean tractors and loaders, and towing vehicles will be available to ensure smooth traffic movement towards Gulmarg,” added the Executive officer.
Furthermore, more parking spots have been identified in Gulmarg and Tangmarg, where vehicles can be properly parked. Hoppers and tractors will also be available for garbage collection during this period.
The three LED screens already installed in Gulmarg and Tangmarg will be utilized for promoting the 4th edition of Khelo India Winter Games and sharing relevant information regarding the Khelo India.
