Updating records is core work of Revenue Dept: DC Kupwara

Kupwara, June 27: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Thursday chaired a meeting of the officers of the Revenue Department here to review the functioning of the department and to ensure efficient and prompt public service delivery in the district.
The meeting held threadbare deliberations on various Revenue related matters including Tehsil wise pendency in extract of Jamabandies, Fard, Extract of Aks Masavi/Lattha beyond PSGA, attestation of mutations, copy of mutations, measurement and demarcation of land, SVAMITVA/preparation of digitisation and online survey of recorded Abadi Deh.
ACR Kupwara, Mumtaz Ahmad Pir apprised the chair through a detailed PowerPoint presentation regarding the functioning of the revenue department and the performance of the officers and field functionaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said the updation of revenue records is a core work of the department and a basic requirement of every household for which coordinated teamwork is key to achieving the set targets in a time-bound manner.
“The performance of revenue officers will be strictly monitored on the parameters of the updation of revenue records and purification of records preceding digitisation,” she said.
Ayushi asked the revenue officers to further improve the public service delivery system at their respective Tehsil Offices, Nyabats and Patwar halqas. She directed all the Tehsildars to ensure quality disposal of all online grievances.
Reviewing the status of Tehsil wise pendency in the extract of Jummabandies, the DC gave a deadline of 15 days to officers to submit the certificates of quality check and finish the exercise. The officers were directed that jamabandies which are not read out in the public domain shall be read during this period.
The DC asked Tehsildars to identify and prepare a list of the good-performing and poor-performing functionaries at Nyabats and Patwar Halqas and submit a report to this office. She directed the officers and field functionaries to be responsive to the people and remain available in their respective jurisdictions. On the occasion, DC also sought feedback from the concerned officers.
