Jammu, Nov 28: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary and Incharge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Tarun Chugh is scheduled to hold an important meeting on Friday with the party’s top leaders and newly elected MLAs to discuss the party’s strategy for the upcoming budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
Sources close to the developments informed Rising Kashmir that Chugh recently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior BJP leaders in Delhi, where they discussed the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and formulated the party’s approach for the budget session.
The meeting, which will be held in Jammu, is expected to bring together all 28 newly elected BJP MLAs for crucial discussions on party strategy. The meeting will also include key BJP leaders from J&K.
As per sources, Chugh will travel to Jammu for the session, which marks a significant step in the BJP’s preparations for the first budget session since the recent elections.
The BJP had secured 29 seats in the recently concluded J&K Assembly elections, but with the demise of Devender Singh Rana, the number has now been reduced to 28. This marks the party’s best-ever performance in J&K, surpassing its previous tally of 25 seats in the last Assembly elections, when it had formed a coalition government with the PDP under the Agenda of Alliance.
