Ganderbal, Mar 24: Residents of several villages in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday have complained about unscheduled power cuts as the holy month of Ramadan begins.
People from Ganderbal, Kangan, Hari Ganiwan, Prang Satruna, Cherwan, Sumbal, Gund, Rayil, Kullan, and Gagangeer have said that they are facing problems, particularly during Sehri and Iftar times, due to electricity not being provided as per schedule.
Even though residents pay their electricity bills on time, the Power Development Department (PDD) is still following the winter power supply schedule, locals claimed.
Frequent power cuts have caused immense inconvenience to the residents. “The electricity is playing hide and seek for the past two days, particularly during Sehri and Iftar time,” the complainants said. “We have requested the PDD officials to improve the power supply, but to no avail.”
“Despite paying the power tariff on time, the power department continues to test our patience,” said a local resident.
Meanwhile, residents have appealed to the PDD department to provide uninterrupted electricity.
